Rest in Peace, Leonard

Star Trek has always been a very big part of my life. Need proof? I dug out a scrapbook from my childhood. Click on the image to see these snippets in all their glory (Unrelated to this, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised to read about my Most Polite Boy award, which I had long forgotten; I am courteous to a fault, which is probably why Slope has survived as a bear blog in the midst of this insane bull market!)

Anyway, during one of my dog walks today, I was sad to read on my Facebook feed that Leonard Nimoy had died at 83. This may be hard to believe, but I’ve long wondered how I would react to this day since – – honestly – – I tear up at the Spock death scene every time I watch Wrath of Khan. I was less affected by reading about Mr. Nimoy’s actual death, but I at least wanted to take a moment to bid him well on the astral plane, and to thank him for bringing to the world a marvelous and important character. You led a good life, sir. Godspeed.
