The Fed has many papers published showing inverted yield curves predict recessions. Yet Brainerd said she won't worry about that and will continue to push for higher rates. 
ie, the Fed will do what it always does, force the US into recession by raising rates after the economy slows down. Maybe they just don't believe their own data? 9/16/18
