Cost of living from 1938
Right at the bottom of the "Second Depression" of 1937. Hard times, TK.
Simple solution. More QE but this time, free houses, cars, tuition, free gas etc etc
I remember a friend of mine having $35.00 a month rent in 1967 for a 1/2 shotgun 2 bedrooms in Thibodaux Louisiana.
Interesting to compare each commodity's price to today. All, of course, went up, but very large variation on how much (eg., milk - about 6x more vs. Harvard tuition).
