Markets are as lethargic and disinterested as are the Labradors at home. Our current unseasonable weather, (it's hot, humid and sunny), doesn't help as everyone waits for His testimony as the excuse for doing little. In truth, most serious managers have got their portfolio's in good order for the summer and short duration traders are stepping back indeed, because of His testimony but also in front of expiration on Friday. The 2nd Ashes Test starts on Thurs which will also be a distraction. Meanwhile, over here aren't we all a wee bit out of sorts with this unseasonal and very un British weather? I was brought up in Inverness and am having a torrid time. Legs turning blue from the cold on Nairn beach in the drizzle, while munching through sand covered ham sandwiches was more typical of my childhood days out.
