Closing Basis - go with the flowClosing Basis - go with the flow
I lost a little this year, but I would say it was a very successful return to trading.

-I returned to journalling/tracking all of my trades, P&L, and various market and attitude statuses daily.
-I identified some trading mistakes I was making, starting watching for them every day, and virtually eliminated them.
-I started monitoring my psychological/emotional capital.
-I clarified my rules for picking trades
-I clarified my rules for determining oversold, neutral, and overbought.
-I worked on my discipline and focused on process rather than making profits.
-I have tweaked my journal for 2017 to be even more accurate to monitor myself

I had three distinct periods of trade during the year.
#1.A losing period where I was not monitoring myself or my trades and was subject to trading errors and pain avoidance that cost me trading capital.
#2.A flat period when I started eliminating mistakes and clarifying my process.
#3.A profiting period where the consistency of my process became a focus and risk control became my top priority.

I highlighted two areas in blue where my pain counter was at a low level which tended to coincide with profiting periods. The only question is, did I have low pain because I was making money or was I making money because I had low pain and it wasn't interfering with my decisions? 12/30/16

CB, when you mention pain, how do you calculate and report it? 12/30/16
