Recession, yummy. 11/1/22

 
 
Instinct is to be apprehensive to short fast food into a recession. But the overlay with SPX is interesting. Smooth through '08, but got creamed during '73 and the dot.com bubble. Hit hard during Covid, but lockdowns made sure of that. Doesn't appear to be recession proof during major downturns. Low income getting hit the most by restrictive monetary policy, it makes sense.

Was reading the accomplishments of Joey Chestnut to my kids and came to him eating 32 Big Macs in 38 min 15 sec. Looks like they are going to need more than him to keep the stock up. 11/1/22

Shoot, the way the stock has gone recently he might have been frequenting their establishments. 11/1/22
