“You see what you look for; you recognize what you know.” This is a saying that I believe has a lot of truth to it. It seems to hold true in many different types of endeavors. For example, in medicine the more you know the better you look for and accurately diagnose a disease. This concept holds a lot of hope to me as I reflect on my trading this last year as many of us do at years end. I look at this chart of SPY and think I wish I knew enough in 2012 to recognize a pretty obvious (in retrospect) large inverse H&S pattern which suggests we would be where we are now. It gives me hope that even if the game is influenced (manipulated) by many factors that, as I believe it was Stan Weinstein who said “The truth is in the tape. “ May we all know a lot more this year partially as a benefit of participating in a great community set up by Mr. Knight. Thank you Tim. Best to you and your loved ones in 2014. Tom B

In looking at my own chart above I realize the margins for the inverse H & S above are incorrectly placed. If interested here is a link to the corrected version. It doesn't change the target but is drawn more appropriately. Also notice the base of the larger H&S is a smaller H&S. Tom B
