The NYSE Composite Index is a float-adjusted market cap weighted index which includes all common stocks listed on the NYSE, including ADRs, REITs and tracking stocks. It encompasses 61% of the total market capitalization of all publicly traded companies around the world. Over 2,000 stocks are covered in the index, of which over 1,600 are from United States corporations and over 360 are foreign listings.
