The top right hand corner is today's closing candle. Everything directly below is just additional info for determining if we have a trend or not and if so how strong. So, each day produces a new vertical stripe. I guess you might call the whole mess an image of some sort. I copied the following from a prior chart.... "As a very rough example, think of a hurricane when it first forms and there are a gaggle of models predicting where it will go. At that point, the models are all over the place but as the storm gets closer to landfall the models tighten and basically converge pretty close to the correct landing. Here, when the models start to converge on a potential long entry they start turning green. Likewise for potential short but they turn black."
I hope this helps. Probably the best way to understand it is to watch it a few days. It's actually a very easy and quick way to visualize the condition of the market. 10/27/17

He offered an explanation to me that made his charts very user friendly. They are now simple to read. 10/27/17

thx ! What software / platform are you using for this ? 10/27/17

If it's not clear now it will be in a few days. In the mean time the message from the chart when it's solid green is to not short until it starts showing degradation. Likewise but opposite for black.
So often I see folks starting a new short when the chart has just turned green and I wish I could stop them. 10/27/17

I use NinjaTrader 8.
It's a programming platform for C#. I wrote most of this stuff (since I'm not very proficient with C# I should say I boogered this stuff together). 10/27/17

How is trend different from ADX or Slim’s momentum indicator? 10/28/17
FoamRangerFoamRanger
I have never looked at Slim's indicator. My guess is it's a fine product and for all I know is far superior to this (wouldn't surprise me at all). I have monkeyed around with the ADX and in my testing I did not favor it. Probably I was not using it correctly. I'm not going to defend my stuff. It is what it is and for some it is disgusting for sure. 10/28/17
