Bull Flag on the Dollar (by Piker Trader)
If you just crawled out from under your rock, Europe is in trouble which means the U.S is considered safe. Who would've thought. What this has done has caused a rally in the dollar as people moved from Euro's or Dollar Bills y'all. The rally could potentially continue as well based on the chart. The Dollar index or /DX has formed a Bull Flag- a bullish chart pattern. Let's take a look at it
Watch This Gap Closely!
Personally, I think it's a pretty good "tell" if there's a sustained rally ahead (gap closure and continuance) or this is just a bull trap.
New Positioning
They're just not going to make this easy for anyone, are they?
Last night, after the close, I was hanging out in the comments section, and I allowed myself to be persuaded that buying a big SPY position might be a good hedge. I jokingly referred to my fellow Slopers as "turd monkeys" for nudging me this way, but I'm glad for those turd monkeys this morning – – it has helped take some of the sting out of a painful morning for the bears.
