Nice to see a solid red screen for a change. I figured yesterday would be the high-water mark for U.S./China feel-good relations. Give it a week. They’ll be slamming each other again.
Anyhoo, I shorted a bunch of high-fliers yesterday, and I augmented it today with SMH, which has a clear gap. My stop-loss price? Simple: Five Six Seven point Eight.

I want to state again that, among my seven options positions (just simple directional long puts), Lennar (LEN) is my favorite. It doesn’t expire until next year (!!!!!!) and has a gargantuan topping pattern. It helps that interest rates are going to fly higher, smashing the homebuilding industry.

The completely pointless Xi/Trump summit is over – – and it cost us, what, $50 million, $100 million, does it even matter anymore?? – – and, as I predicted, it was a double-patty nothing-burger with cheese. Goldman Sachs had been screeching to their clients to buy Chinese stocks in anticipation of the mega-rally, and you can see how well THAT advice worked out by way of FXI.
