Well, I thought this day would never come, but here we have it. In the course of a single session, I have traded my way from 8th place to 1st on the Slope of Hope virtual trading platform.

How’d I do it? Well……….a veritable crapload of trades. Almost all of them the same kind of trade – – SPY put options that expire tomorrow. And I was trading huge, huge positions. Pretty much the entire account would be put into some crazy-ass risky put. I did a few calls during the “waterfall” down, and a few XLE puts, but on the whole, it was all the the 1DTE SPY puts. I closed the day with no positions at all. Just a ton of cash.

I’ve got to tell you, I am bonkers-happy with our virtual trading system. For those of you would haven’t tried it, please do so. Because it is FUN and VERY educational.
I have learned so much from virtual trading, not the least of which is that the win ratio isn’t necessarily related to one’s success.

For me, what’s most interesting to me is the psychological component.
Listen, I am very proud of my charting skills, and I’m very proud of the technology I’ve created. But I suck as a trader. Just terrible. I just don’t have the personality for it. At least not with real dollars.
But with fake dollars, I can sometimes just knock it right out of the park. It’s kind of a shame, really. Take away the element of fear, and I’m the king of the world. But it isn’t real.
Still, it feels kinda nice. Give it a try. It’s great fun.
