Sleepless in Salo Alto

Well, this is going to be an odd comment-cleaner, but here goes. Not long ago, my wife and I got a super-fancy Tempur-Pedic bed. Most of the expense is in the mattress, but we also got the base which does all kinds of inclines and lifts (pictured below, without the mattress). One of the features of this bed is the SleepAI technology which, if it detects you snoring, will gently incline the to shut your snoring up.

It’s been driving me kind of nuts, though, because periodically, the bed will go into all kinds of twists and turns, like it’s possessed, to activate this feature, even though I wasn’t snoring, so it made for a horrible night’s sleep. I finally put two and two together and realized that my biggest dog (whom some of you hear snoring LOUDLY on my tastytrade show) was the culprit, since the bed hears her snoring (again, loudly) and figures It had been throw me into a 45 degree angle. So, here I am, at 3 in the morning. I’m putting the damned bed on a timer which, ironically, kind of defeats the purpose, but as thinkorswim (which has been offline for many hours) shows, you can’t always trust tech.
