Slippity Doo Dah
The core sector for the equity rally, semiconductors, seems to have lost its mojo. Of particular import, I’d say, is whether or not the recent slip in NVDA is just a brief pause (like the previous red arrow) or something more sinister.
Semi-Conscious
Just a few thoughts on a handful of semiconductor stocks. First, the king of them all, Nvidia. I read that there is a tremendous amount of call-buying activity at the $1,000 level. Clearly there is a strong conviction that the psychologically satisfying Big Round Number will be achieved. Not yet!
Semi-Soft
A few days ago, an announcement came out that the U.S government was showering Intel (INTC) with countless tens of billions of dollars of aid, grants, tax breaks, and other goodies. To me, this was disgusting, because INTC has likewise spent countless tens of billions (hundreds, actually) of dollars buying back their own underperforming stock for years, and now they are using corporate welfare to suck money out of taxpayers. Thus, it’s heartening to see that, even with this grift, INTC is getting shellacked this morning.
