Show Unique Symbols

By -

Yessir, it’s another SlopeCharts improvement. On a Sunday, no less! It may be God’s day of rest, but we chartists never stop going.

We’ve added a new feature that makes your watchlists only display symbols that are found in no other watchlists that you have. There are several ways this is useful, but let me offer one example.

Let’s say you had used SlopeCharts’ “Preloaded Watchlists” feature to subscribe to the S&P 500 list. Obviously there are 500 symbols in that list, but maybe you follow a bunch of those already anyway.

SlopeCharts Now Has OBV!

By -

I’m seriously losing track of how many features we’re adding. I think this is the seventh one in two days. Anyway, as the title suggests SlopeCharts, my pride and joy, now has On Balance Volume.

The On Balance Volume (OBV) indicator is a relatively simple SlopeCharts indicator that combines volume and price to help determine change of trend. The OBV line chart doesn’t have its own price scale. Instead, you simply need to observe the pattern of the line and how it relates to the price chart as a whole.

As strong volume accompanies rising prices, the OBV will surge higher. However, as strong volume occupies drooping prices, the OBV will push lower. The higher the volume, the more “weight” the up or down movement in price will have. The lower the volume, the less the OBV will move based on the present direction. (more…)

You’ve Got Style!

By -

Can you believe it? ANOTHER SlopeCharts improvement! What’s this – – like 6 in the past day? Anyway…….we’ve got STYLES now.

Styles in SlopeCharts allows you to save time changing the appearance of a chart. There are many different variables that go into a chart – – whether or not it updates, how frequently it updates, whether the bars are shown as candlesticks or lines, how much historical data is loaded, and so forth. Styles encompasses all of these elements:

Preloaded Watch Lists in SlopeCharts

By -

OK, it’s only the third day of the year, and we’ve already introduced TWO major new features (and two minor ones) to SlopeCharts! Not bad for a free product, is it? (And, although I can’t believe it, we’ve finished another major feature, which I’ll announce tomorrow).

The latest is something I’ve been wanting to do a while: Preloaded Watchlists. These are basically ready-to-use lists of common groupings (like the components of the S&P 100, the Dow Industrials, and so forth) which you can fetch with a mouse click. I’m planning to add plenty more lists, too, in order to save you – – yes, you – – time.

To use it, just click the Watch Lists link and choose Preloaded Watchlists:
