Driven to Distraction

Well, the market isn't as fascinating to me these days as it normally is. I think the Elliott Wave crowd has it right – – the market will go up, unless it doesn't.

So I'm working on a little video project for you good people. It's not going to make you a penny, but I think it's damned clever. So that's what I'm doing.

NOTE: I'm not sure if Disqus is having issues, but I'm definitely seeing load problems when comments try to come in.

Midnight Paranoia

By -

I'm still working on a goofy little side project I'll reveal in a day or two.

I got a late start (obviously) so will be catching up. I will say this, however. Paranoia these days seems wise. When the /NQ had its brief dip last night, I got out. I can't stand waking up to sudden spikes. And, sure enough, this morning we had another surge, so I was glad to be flat. (for e-mini's, anyway!)

So I'll be back here in a bit.

SF Journey

Well, that was a waste of four hours. To explain…………

My mother-in-law inherited the contents of a couple of safe deposit boxes of a close friend (as part of a larger estate matter). A witness was required, and she needed a lift, so as a good son-in-law, I agreed to take her up to San Francisco.

It took a little over an hour to pick her up and get up to the city. We went to a Wellls Fargo which was – – and I'd never seen this before – – part of a 50/50 floor plan with Starbucks. It wasn't that there was a little kiosk; the place was half Wells Fargo, and half Starbucks.

Since banks are basically Federal government offices these days, it seems the employees have all adopted the proper attitude. They were slow, inefficient, and generally clueless. But at least there was this sumptuous array of refreshments they kindly presented as we dawdled.

That's correct: we were asked to enjoy some "refreshments", which consisted entirely of a few hard candies thrown into a plastic bowl.

In any event, the locksmith came, carefully drilled out the locks, and extracted the safe deposit boxes – one small, one large. What could be in them, we wondered. Gold bullion? Silver bricks? Neatly stacked bundles of Eurodollars?

We opened them up to find:

  • All known attractive photographs of AJC; and
  • A complete list of all the reasons the current rally is both sustainable and legitimate

In other words, there was nothing but air in both boxes. What a Geraldo Rivera/Al Capone Vault moment!

Once we finally got all the paperwork signed, we headed back. We passed by Mercy High School, which I had never noticed before. My mind began to drift, as it always does………..do they have athletic teams? What do their uniforms look like? Does it have a huge MERCY emblazoned across each jersey? What might their cheers be like?

But it doesn't matter. My afternoon was shot, and I have nothing to say about the market anyway. Let's just all relax.
