Worst. Spam. Ever.

Like the rest of you, I get spam on a daily basis, and sometimes it’s so painfully obvious as to be funny. For instance, I just got this in my inbox:

0702-warning

So I’m assuming these spammers actually want people to (a) open the email and (b) click on whatever link they provide. So right away, they’ve done a poor job, because Apple isn’t going to have apple_Support in the From field, and they’re not going to have an all-lowercase “warning” (including, God forbid, putting the name Apple in lowercase). But let’s just say someone was blinkered enough to want to check it out:

0702-locked

(a) Apple would never refer to a customer as a “member”;
(b) Run-on sentences abound!;
(c) There is no need to capitalize Verification;
(d) My account will be “destroyed”? That’s an interesting way to put it;
(e) “Craft” a session? Huh?;
(f) Paypal? Paypal?!?! Wait a second; you’re supposed to be Apple!;
(g) So you’re telling me if it’s junk click not junk; Roger; Got it;
(h) “Why this electronic courier He Was you feel? Filmography The sending of this email Applies When the expiration date your account expires.” Oh, come on. You’re not even trying anymore!;
(i) “Assistance to paypal customers.” Sigh. Setting aside the fact that no one in the world is called that, again, you guys are supposed to be Apple.
(j) And now they go French on us!;
(k) Finally, the address is indeed Apple headquarters……..and then it’s back to French.

Ya know, given all that, if someone is stupid enough to click on the link, they deserve whatever happens next.
