In mid-July when TK announced his upcoming vacation plans, I emailed him offering to help keep things flowing on Slope while he was hitting the highways and byways of Europe so that he could focus on VACATIONING. I expected, as he’s done in the past, to graciously thank me, yet, decline and continue to take care of his baby himself even while traveling around the world with his family. However, this time, a couple of days prior to his departure date he surprised me by taking me up on the offer and I was happy to assist.
I knew that with all of the top notch contributors, my job was easy… put up a new post every couple of hours, let Slope be Slope, and that’s exactly how smooth things have gone. I can’t thank the guest writers enough for stepping up, taking the time to put together their content but also their willingness to share it for us all to see, it isn’t easy to put yourself out there with your prognostications.
And thank you to all Slopers, visible and invisible (lurkers), for creating the best online community around. We have our trials and tribulations. We have our happy moments, our sad moments. We have our little spats, but what family doesn’t. We are a family, whether we like it or not.
I’ve had, and always will have a deep respect for TK and all that he does. The man is a perpetual motion machine in human form with everything he juggles on a daily basis, including being a dedicated family man. And now that I’ve spent a week in “his shoes”, I wonder even more how he does it all.
Thank you Tim for all you do, and welcome back… And if just once during your 11 day whirlwind tour, while having an enjoyable time you started to think about Slope but stopped yourself and said “Nah, I’m not going to rush back to the resort, Iggy and the gang have things under control.”, then I consider it a success and am happy to know we helped in a small way for you to have a pleasant vacation.
As the curtain falls on the end of my temporary tenure as Slope Master , I want to be sure to acknowledge those that did all of the real work…
