I probably shouldn’t say anything, but I just gotta………
I went to log on to Bank of America. And on the home page……….
Then I went to Paypal to check my balance. And here’s the homepage………
Later in the day (seriously, I am not making this up), I went to the American Express site to dispute an erroneous charge……..
Finally, I went to Kabbage, to check my credit line.
Umm, OK, financial service companies of the world, we GET it. You are in full-blown pander mode. Or am I wrong? Are 99% of your customers young minority women? Sure seems that way! I didn’t cherry pick these. These financial services websites are batting 1,000. Because it’s this way on EVERY……… SINGLE…………… SITE.
Of course, this kind of sentiment probably scared them into action a few years back.
Do I want all these home pages to have people that look like me? No, not really. How about………NO people at all. I just want to check my freakin’ balance, if you don’t mind. I don’t need your – – whatever this is – – pushed into my face every time I try to hop onto any financial service website. Or just put up a big smiley face to represent everybody. Sheesh.
