As I mentioned, this morning the consensus among Slopers was that we were going to rage higher all day long, and 4100 was a foregone conclusion.
This was a totally and completely understandable speculation.
(more…)After the big move higher before the market opened, the instant conclusion around Slope was that the market would just rip higher All Day Long. Well, ummm, not really:
Here’s an interesting layered chart I put together this morning. In blue is the SPY and in red is the cumulative advance/decline line. What jumps out at me is how, from the start of the year until October 13th, the lines were pretty much in lockstep, but the most recent rally had a vastly stronger A/D line. Leave your thoughts about what this might mean in the comments section.
