The final mega-earnings even of this week was Apple (AAPL) which reported after Thursday’s close. The stock spiked about ten dollars higher and then got zeroed out. At this point, it has been effectively dead money, cruising along at $258 plus or minus a few dimes, for days. Boring, boring, boring, but a big relief that it didn’t do anything to help our bullish friends.
There are a number of characters that get worldwide media publicity because, many years ago, they made a good prediction or two. Cathie D. Lee is one of them. The other, whom I truly detest, is Tom Lee of Fundstrat. What bothers me more than his foppish, effeminate mannerisms is the fact that he’s always pushing crypto and making completely outlandish predictions, such as projecting that Bitcoin will be worth $2 million to $3 million per coin eventually. What a bunch of nonsensical horseshit.
As I stated earlier, today turned out to be really terrific, in stark contrast to my expectations. After the close on Thursday, I was also relieved to see that Apple’s huge price pop was completely zeroed out, and now it’s just flopping around. I guess maybe people have stopped upgrading their iPhones every week.
I guess I’m kind of a 1931 guy at heart…….
