Hanging Up

When I was a kid, the phone in my bedroom was this exact model. Yes, it was meant to be a nostalgic old-fashioned phone from much earlier in the 20th century, but it was one of my favorite (few) possessions. I daresay anyone under the age of 30 would have no idea how to use this thing.

Anyway, rotary dials, RJ11 cables, and busy signals are a thing of the distant past. The entire concept of a “phone” is unrecognizable compared to what I grew up with, and it seems that it won’t be long until the only people left with land lines are those over the age of 90 who just don’t want to part with their easy-to-remember number.
