The Director brought to my attention that the overnight Reverse Repo, conducted by the shameless charlatans at the Fed, is regularly at the $1.5 trillion level now, night after night. I would humbly ask you to compare recent activity to what USED to take place and try to accept the fact that there’s absolutely nothing wrong here.

I can sense things are starting to crack. My sixteen options positions (all of them January 2022 puts) are starting to blossom nicely, and my favorite sector to hate – – energy – – it starting to inch away from the trendline that I’ve been touting endlessly.

And it got me to thinking about a topic which almost ripped Slope apart last year – – politics – – which recently seems to be more civil and under control.
I was curious how many Senate seats were up for grabs in the forthcoming midterms, and – – duh – – about one-third of them are (because two divided by six equals one-third, Tim the Genius). That’s kind of startling when you think about it, because I’m sure you’re aware that our MIA VP Harris is the one and only thing tipping things to a 51/50 balance these days. That is a vanishingly thin margin, folks.

I have learned to tamp down my own political passions here on my beloved Slope. There is a LOT of politically-charged news lately, but I haven’t said Word One about any of it, preferring instead to share my cute little charts and offer a thought or two about them.
I will say, however, in a totally non-partisan manner, that to me it’s all too obvious what the next 36 months holds. This is all predicated on the notion, deeply cherished by me, that Most People Are Really, Really Dumb. It’s basically Rule One in my own life.
Thus I believe the following will happen:
- Sometime between now and November 8, 2022, assets will get hit hard;
- The dummies crowding our country will blame the party in charge and will absolutely wreck the majority in the Senate and, possibly, the House;
- The next two years will be spent in a total deadlock, with absolutely no progress (if you want to call government action “progress”);
- During those two years, things will suck out loud, and the doddering occupant of the White House – – who by then, if he’s still alive, will be incredibly unpopular – – will get the blame from the aforementioned airheads in the country;
- The 2024 election will be something beyond all imagination with respect to the nature of the candidates and the level of bellicosity.
And that’s all I’ve got to say about that.
