Life Is Short and Long

On Sunday morning, I was standing in line at Red Rock with my son. I was looking on my iPhone at BDI’s post and learned in the comments section about the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. He was only 46, and he apparently died of a heroin overdose.

I have wanted to post the video below for a long time: it is a favorite scene from one of my favorite movies, Magnolia, and it is utterly saturated with pathos. PSH is one of the stars of Magnolia, and he features prominently in this scene. It’s a little long, but pour yourself a scotch and watch it. I think it’s important. Rest in peace, PSH.
