Here’s an interesting overview as to what’s considered the first, second, and third world over a period of decades. It looks like Africa is doing a crackerjack job of not changing much.

This shows what percentage of a given country is populated by migrants. Switzerland, for instance, formerly the whitest place (with the most chocolate) on the planet is now almost one-third migrants.

Around 1990, everyone figured Japan was going to be the #1 economy in the world. Well, they did indeed become #1, but perhaps not in the contest they anticipated.
