Well, the whole trade war thing was a total joke. Everyone’s hair was bursting into flames about the tariffs, retaliatory tariffs, etc., but with some vague promises about sending personnel to keep an eye on the borders, both Canada and Mexico were left off the hook. Added to which, Wall Street darling Palantir (PLTR) shot up like a rocket after earnings were announced
Here’s a rare success story in which I’m not furious with myself for selling too soon. The stock was Novo Nordisk (NVO), and I bought puts and made a triple-digit profit on the puts. The reason I’m bringing this up is because the hard fall of NVO almost perfect sealed its price gap (dashed green line) which is providing support.
From the start of 2021 to the end of 2022, Palantir (PLTR) lost about 90% of its value. Since then, thanks largely to the disposition of the forthcoming administration to the company, it has soared to a p/e ratio of about 315. It is sporting a very clean price gap at the moment.
Well, the bulls are off and running again. After enduring a tiny bear market from November 11 2021 until June 16 2022, they’ve been enjoying basically straight-up ever since. The start of 2025 is no exception, as the /NQ is up hundreds of points and the /ES executed a nearly 100 point blast-off from yesterday’s lows (and, by the way, these cleaved weeks are completely screwing with my head; I am fully convinced today is Monday).
I don’t think I’ve ever traded Boeing (BA) in my entire life, but I bought June $180 puts today. Mercifully, I bought them late enough to take advantage of the bounce. Earlier in the day, the stock was quite weak, based on the whole planes-killing-people hoopla.
