Most of you have heard of Substack, I imagine (indeed, Slope has a presence there, which is essentially a miniaturized version of the Slope of Hope – – thank you, NYUGrad!). Incredibly, Substack has pushed past both CBS News and the Wall Street Journal websites with respect to its monthly site visits.
Years ago, I assumed the news was fairly even-handed and you could trust what you were reading. I’ve learned over time to take into account the source, since publications tend to have strong biases one way or the other. For example, there are some specific media outlets like Electrek and Futurism which HATE Tesla and HATE Elon, so these days when I read a breathless headline like this, I take it with a grain of salt:
I’m participating in x.com less and less these days, and the reason is simple: in spite of having over 25,000 followers, almost ALL the replies I get to my tweets are just garbage spam. I mean, honest to God, I even sent out a cute picture of Dukie, and every single reply was some bot promoting some stock “analyst”. I just don’t have the interest for this crap anymore.
Pretty sad that the only news people trust anymore tells them what the temperature outside is.
Yeah, I had never heard of them either. JioHotStar is suddenly the second-biggest streaming platform due to one simple fact: evidently, Indians love, love, love, the sport of cricket. Go figure.
