I’m a lifelong fan of The Who, and Bargain has always been a favorite. What I didn’t realize until recently, though, is that this isn’t a song of a guy trying to button down some gorgeous girl. It’s actually a love song to God. Give it a listen with that in mind.

August, Die She Must
Well, the month of August 2015 is history now, and what an insane month it was. I ended it on a good note – – a nice profit today – – and I am once again aggressively positioned on the short side (having built up my positions from merely 48, on Wednesday, to a full 106 today). Broadly speaking, I am positioned for a diminishment in crude from present levels as well as general equity softness, by and large, all the way through the September 17th anti-Christ press conference.
Let us bid August adieu with one of the sweetest voices there ever was:
Something Must Be Done
What Do You Get?
Today was terrific – except for one thing: my long positions.
After Friday’s success with gold, I decided to get cute and buy miners, as well as some oil producers, and even some oil. Almost without exception, every one a loser, and in the end, nothing more than a substantial tax on my marvelous bearish profits.
And in my head I can only think of one song – – shown below – – whose lyrics I have renamed “I’ll never buy a stock again………”
I’ve Got a Name
Back on November 10th, I sang the praises of the Quentin Tarantino movie Django Unchained. (YouTube got wise to whoever had posted the whole film and has since removed it). I’ve seen it a couple more times since I did the post, and I like it more each time. There’s one particular clip that I just adore, which is when Django and his partner Dr. King Schultz head out as bounty-hunting partners. It’s got to be one of the best uses of “recycled” music (in this case, Jim Croce‘s I’ve Got a Name) that I’ve ever seen in a film. Enjoy:
