This was from almost half a century ago. Here we see Marlon Brando reflecting upon his refusal to show up for the Oscars. Watch the interview, and you can see what a thoughtful, gentle person he was, and how he carefully takes time to make himself understood. What a marvelous contrast to the way things are handled today. (And I’m not even referring to the fact that the big controversy back then was a gentle speech by a Native American as opposed to some guy smacking another guy in the face).

Language of the Left
Well, my friends, this is one of those rare times when the last thing I want to talk about is the stock market. No charts. No retracements. No trendlines or arcs. Nothing. I’m just too damned disgusted with the entire affair. So I’m going to write about something different, and it’s from my personal life.
The majority of our family’s wealth is in California real estate, most of it income generating. Each month, we get a lump sum payment of the accumulated rent gathered from tenants, along with a report as to who paid what, what expenses were incurred, and so forth. Simple stuff.
