Considering how Lindsay Halligan and Alina Habba have both been jettisoned from their roles, the administration might consider that perhaps it is better to hire a high-ranking federal prosecutor based on their intellect and qualifications as opposed to how much you’d like to {hyphenated verb redacted} ’em.
Imagine a friend. Let’s say he weighs 160 pounds. A month later when he visits, he’s 170 pounds. The next month, 180. Another month goes by, and 190. You get the idea. Up and up it goes, 10 pounds a month.
A while later, when he pays you his monthly visit, he has grown in size from 250 pounds to 255. Only half as much weight gain this time! Way to go, Gordo! He’s getting fat, but at a reduced rate.
Is he trimming down? No, obviously. He’s simply getting fat more slowly, that’s all. And yet:
The administration has been bragging about how pricings are plunging. That is – – let’s keep this G-rated – – simply nonsense. Prices are still climbing, just not as fast, and anyone who believes otherwise would likewise embrace their 255-pound friend and congratulate him on his new svelte self.
I can vividly remember as a child believing the idea that adults had it all figured out. We would be safe with them. We would learn from them. And, one day, we’d grow up to be like them – – world-wise, decent, and civil.
