Back In the Driver’s Seat
I just bought June $230 puts in Carvana (CVNA), whose recent price activity is featured below, augmented by the oh-so-innocent grin of its convicted felon founder (who had to have his son be on the paperwork, what with the prison sentence and all). The company has been, for the moment, insanely successful, and it is sporting a price/earnings ratio measured, quite literally, in the quadruple digits.

Is Smucker in a Jam?
When I started in this business, a company like Apple might warrant a P/E of 20, whereas a company like Smucker (you know, the jam maker) would probably have a P/E of 7. Well, in these dizzy times, Smucker (SJM) has an Apple-like P/E, and it seems to me that this stock is poised to be worth a lot less a year from now, based on the massive top I’ve tinted.
