GDX as a “Tell”
I was sweating it out a bit earlier today, but GDX's approach and retreat from its gap was a source of comfort. It's a pretty fascinating intraday chart. This market still feels exceptionally vulnerable to sell-offs.
US Airways Takes Off
It seems odd to me, but charts are what count, not what seems odd or normal. US Airways (LCC) is really shoring itself up nicely as a long position. It has overcome both a multi-year descending trendline by breaking it on the upside as well as resistance at about $5.60. This is a handsome chart.
Mercury Poisoning (by Nathaniel Goodwin)
I've been shoveling snow for about 48 hours straight. My muscles are so sore and pumped up; I really feel like a man, especially with Ted still in the hospital.
Apparently it wasn't inhaling N2O out of the Reddi-Wip cans for 12 hours straight that sent him to the hospital; it was mercury and cadmium poisoning (probably from the cheap counterfeit merchandise he and Brew were pawning off). So Ted is recovering from heavy metal poisoning, and I find it really ironic that one of my best shorts is Mercury Computer Systems (MRCY). I've been watching this chart for a while, I think it is a thing of beauty.
