Those Remarkable Trendlines

My chart looks different below (since I’m downstairs at my luxurious hotel with the most non-luxurious Internet speed you can imagine…..so I’ve hotwired to their line instead of using wireless) since I’m on my Macintosh. Anyway, as many years as I’ve been doing this, and as many hundreds of thousands (literally) of charts I’ve examined, I still can be dazzled by the amazing relationships the simplest lines can reveal on a chart. Below is Alcoa (symbol AA) – – take note of the astonishing nature of support/resistance, even over the course of a decade, and even over the course of several business cycles. Wow!

I also want to take a moment to once again thank Iggy for doing a yeoman’s job keeping the blog running. I have been running at about 10% of my normal capacity during my travels, and Iggy has not only held it together, but he’s actually done a far better job than I ever had at soliciting outside content. I got a couple of angry emails from contributors who were upset that I didn’t leave their posts up longer, and I apologize for that, but honest – – this ain’t easy with a nine hour time difference. All the same, the only fumbles have been courtesy of me, not Iggy! I am terribly grateful that he took on this responsibility, and I will be pleased to grab the torch again Saturday morning, once I’m fully back in the Bay Area and return to return to my so-called normal life.
