(Part One from yesterday can be seen here). As 2014 sputters to its termination, I wanted to share some of what I consider to be the best posts of the year. I am immensely proud of this blog, which – – incredibly – – turns ten years old next year, and I am exceedingly grateful to those of you who has chosen to spend part of your days here on a regular basis (for some of you, almost as long as the blog as been in existence). Here is the second part of my retrospective:
- Why We Fight – an unflinching look at the bulls versus the bears.
- The Persistence of Memory – are the markets, as we knew them, dead for good now? (This post alone generated 574 comments, which is more comments than a lot of blogs accrue in an entire year)
- The Whirled Connection – I wrote my first book when I was 16, and this tells the tale (and what the book was about).
- Gold Seekers and Gold Diggers – suffice it to say this has nothing to do with precious metals.
- Embracing Inequality – which I declared in the very first comment was the greatest post I had ever written. That’s probably untrue, but it’s a good piece nonetheless.
- My First Computer – a wistful look back at my first computer. Cute.
- A Plea for Civility – Iggy lays down the law for Slope decorum.
- My Story Begins – the first video of the multipart series of videos I created about my former company, Prophet Financial Systems. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry. You’ll hurl.
- The Great Deformation – my epic review (which itself garnered over 400 comments and was reposted over at David Stockman’s own blog) of the amazing tome written by Mr. Stockman. Read it. Know it. Live it.
- Past Fear Present Fear – a prediction based on an analog that the VIX was about to soar which, I’m glad to say, came very true.
I often am gripped with the idea that I’m all out of good posts, and after reviewing all these terrific entries, I am gripped yet again. I suppose that, when inspiration hits, I’ll still be able to squeeze a few more out. I hope so. More links tomorrow, so you’d better get cracking on reading those cited today.
PLEASE NOTE! The Slope+ coupon expires tomorrow, so this is your final opportunity to get a free month of the service to try it out. Click on this link to subscribe, and use the coupon code yuletide. This is especially germane since the first comment below is for a video of 15 new short ideas exclusively for Slope+ subscribers!
