Slope of Hope Blog Posts
Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Ratio Recap
In a dynamic, fast-paced market, I am a fount of thoughts and ideas. In this light-grey, creeps-up-each-day, zero-volume of market we have, it’s one hell of a thing to try to think of anything to say. Pity me!
Still, let me close the day with an interesting relationship: that is, between the small cap equities and bonds. Here is a new ratio chart I just created between the $RUT (Russell 2000 small caps) and the /US (continuous contract of bonds). The similar reversal patterns of today and the pre-financial crisis are alluring.

Surprising Victory
In this completely corrupt, captured, catatonic catastrophe known as the U.S. stock market, we finally made a new lifetime high on the S&P 500. You can witness the thrills and dynamism leading us to the momentous and utterly organic occasion. What a joke.

An Unfortunate Repulsion
Yep, just what I was afraid of. I said 2020 was resistance on the futures, and the same level is a price gap on GLD. We got close, and then blammo, the damned thing still thinks it’s the SPY and turned south. C’mon, gold. Get a mind of your own! Until we push past this chunk of overhead supply, this is where we’re stuck.

What It Would Take
Thanks 100% to Powell, the S&P 500 hit the highest point in the history of the universe today.
