Well, folks, this is what you get what a market is absolutely priced for perfection until the year 3295. You can have company after company announce blow-your-tits-off amazing earnings and prospects, have the stock briefly skyrocket, and then vomit all over its lapels. I didn’t have to dig for obscure examples this afternoon. Allow me to share these tiny, no-name companies with you…………

This is the Russelll 2000 /RTY futures, and you can see how we’ve been rangebound for virtually the whole of 2021. Mercifully, the recent baseless rally stopped at the white line, which cements yet another “lower high”. Naturally what I’d like to see next is a lower low, which will shatter the bottom of the range. Then………there will be blood.
Don’t you sometimes wish you could somehow travel backwards in time and place a few trades based on what you know? Or perhaps travel forward and then return with next year’s football almanac or next week’s lottery numbers? (more…)Some of you know that I have a daily broadcast on the tastytrade network called Trading the Close. As grateful as I am for the show (I’ve been a member of the team since literally Day One, which was eons ago), I’ve always hated the name of the show. I mean, the name stinks in general, and the show isn’t even at the closing bell! So – yuck.
They have told me I can change the name, so I want to get this right. They say they want the word “Trading” in the name somewhere, so I offered……….
But seriously, folks, I’d appreciate any helpful ideas you’ve got about the show. What I’d like the most, of course, would be Slope of Hope, but I doubt they’d let me get away with that. So – – what do you think I should call it?
