To see what a yield curve normally looks like, you need only go back a couple of years. Try not to weep too hard at how cheap rates were back then.

Presently, instead of a lovely, gently lifting curve, you have a warped, distorted, psychotic beast.

As you probably know, inverted yield curves have a 100% success rate predicting recessions. But this time it isn’t just inverted. It’s Inverted, with a capital “I”, because the present upside-down-ness dwarfs everything before it.
