Musing on Metals
Well, folks, I’ve just about had it up to the proverbial “here” with silver. I was truly looking forward, at long last, to being a bull on something, and not just for a day or two, but for months or even years. On Friday morning, at long last, silver seemed to have a mind of its own, zooming almost 5% higher in the midst of an otherwise humdrum market of other assets.

Yet More (Bad) Records
The latest charts from Current Market Valuation have tumbled out, and the story is the same: record highs, record highs, record highs. Here is their aggregate chart, which yet again is at a new peak for this endless bull market. In the entire history of mankind, there was only ONE fleeting moment when the aggregate was higher, and that was March 2000.

Random Nuggets
If I can interrupt the festivities of Presidents’ Day for a moment, here are a few tidbits from the boys in Gainesville I thought were worth sharing. First up is the plot of how many assets are put into leveraged bullish funds (white) versus bearish (blue). The contrast is stark – – a ten-fold difference – – which is a record. Let’s just admit there are no bears left.
