One economic data point that came out recently which I didn’t notice was the Michigan Consumer Sentiment report. It’s actually kind of a big deal. The expectation was 51.6, and the actual number came in at 47.6:

This isn’t just a miss. It’s the LOWEST EVER RECORDED. Through decades of war, recession, political mayhem, and general awfulness, the public has never felt WORSE about what lies ahead than right now (and I’m inclined to agree with them!)

All this talk about “the hottest country on Earth” and a “new golden age” is a giant pile of steaming pig crap. Don’t believe it, and you’ll be better for having not done so.
