This is another big earnings day, although the cool stuff like MSFT and AMD isn’t until this afternoon. For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with soap maker Procter & Gamble, whose stock basically hasn’t had a downtick since the autumn of 1980.
That is, until this morning. Let’s just say this isn’t a typical move for an ancient blue chip that makes household consumables.
Incidentally, a few blocks from my home is a place called Gamble Gardens, which is where one of the original family members of the company set up her rather grand home, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Ms. Gamble is long gone, but she left her estate for us commoners to roam around at will.
