Risky Business

By -

When I was a kid, almost no one would call themselves an “entrepreneur.” These days, it seems everyone with any form of gainful employment likes to pretend they are one. They aren’t. An entrepreneur to me is a risk-taker who works for themself and whose livelihood is utterly dependent on themselves (like, oh, say, Tim Knight). There’s a reason the W-2 route is safer: if you start a new business, you probably won’t make it.

Since Slope started in 2005, I will include myself in the “2004 Cohort” and celebrate the fact that we’re in the one-fifth minority which has actually survived! (No thanks to the gonnabesicks of the site, but…….)
