Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Click on any category icon below to see posts tagged with that particular subject, or click on a word in the category cloud on the right side of the screen for more specific choices.

Please note that the long-awaited upgrade to our new server (with new PHP, new SQL, faster hardware, etc.) is going to happen early in the afternoon (PST) on Saturday. If things seem odd or glitchy, that’s what’s up. Hopefully, you won’t notice anything, but if we seem to disappear for a while, don’t be alarmed!

I consider myself kind-hearted, but I’m not a very thoughtful person. I don’t remember birthdays. I’m not into buying gifts. Hell, I even struggle to remember people’s names (their dogs, however, I always remember).
Slopers, historically, have been very thoughtful. Over the years, I’ve received thousands of emails and hundreds of hand-written letters from readers all over the world. I’ve also received beautiful drawings, bottles of wine, and even silver coins! Here’s is a tiny, tiny sampling from my bulging folder:

Here’s another jaw-dropper. What used to be normal (a household with a man, woman, and at least one kid) has now become freakish, whereas what used to be just plain sad (a person totally by themselves) is the norm!
