A Yen for Yen
In what, for the moment, must be a terribly-embarrassing example of bad timing, John Mauldin yesterday made a huge hoo-ha about being so bearish on the yen that he converted his mortgage into it. In other words, his view was that the yen would plunge in value and, thus, make it cheaper to pay off later in US dollars. (more…)

Years ago, we bought a backyard play set for our children. It’s really nice, but as the kids got older, they stopped playing on it. Having spent $5,000 on the thing, I was frustrated that it was just sitting out there unused, but then I decided on an interesting way to repurpose it: make it into the world’s coolest chicken coup.
