Slopefest VI!!! By Market Sniper

Time does fly when we are having fun! It is that time of year again for Slopers to head out to Sin City, USA, aka, Las Vegas for fun, good company, trader talk, and other festivities! Slopefest VI is scheduled for the weekend of June 14th. Take the time to relax and match faces with avatars, meet new friends and renew old friendships as well! During past Slopefests, great times were had by all and this time it will be NO different in that respect. Here is the scheduled itinerary:

Friday June 13. For very early arrivals, I should be rolling up to Ballys (where many of us stay) around 6 am or so. Meet for early breakfast? I can be found at my “office” which is the casino bar next to the crap tables. Friday late afternoon, we meet at Deuces at the Aria where we rearrange the furniture for drinks. They open the doors there at 5 pm. Should Deuces be booked by a private party (happened once), we can be found at Bar Moderna, also located at the Aria. After that, we normally head over to Lemon Grass at the Aria for some fine Thai food.

Saturday June 14. Starting at 11 am into the late afternoon, Hagar will be throwing a party get together at his home in Summerlin with plenty of good food and drinks. Car pools will be attempted and taxi cabs are plentiful and inexpensive if pooling rides. Directions will be given out well in advance. With any luck, we may get Oscar Carboni to also attend. His good friend, Mike, should also be there. A trading veteran with many great insights.

Saturday evening starting at 6 pm, we have the Media Room booked at the Foundation Room at the top of the Mandalay Bay. Great ambiance. It is how I imagine a British Officers club would be like in Rangoon, Burma circa 1900. Fantastic view of The Strip from their balcony. More great food and drinks. Dress is casual+. There is a private elevator to the Foundation Room. Just let the person at the booth in front of it know you are with The Slope to gain access. Tim should also be there so this is a sure not to miss opportunity to meet and speak with our gracious host here on The Slope!

Sunday June 15. In the morning, some of us like to go to The Sterling Brunch at Ballys. Arguably the best brunch in Vegas, the State of Nevada and possibly the entire county. It is being remodeled and hopefully will be open. If not, we will head across the street to Caesars Palace and the Bacchanal brunch there.

The rest of the time and in between, we continue to party. Nf6 and myself will attempt to give dice “influencing” our best efforts! One or both of us get “in the groove” you could make all your trip expenses plus some walking around money in quick order!

Make every effort to be there. You will not be disappointed! For planning purposes for Hagar, please inform me at Dutch302 at gmail if you plan to attend. Hope to see all of you soon!

PS: A few notes of interest. For those that cannot make it, there is another gathering to be yet scheduled in October. Dates will be made known when available. Also! After Christmas and into the New Year, some of us are planning to be in Sydney, Australia (if the river don’t rise!). It is Hagar’s birthday then and he wants to party there. Why not? You can speak with him about that as well. Plans are being made. First semi-Slopefest outside the USA? For those who are sports aficionados, Super Handicapper is coming in from San Antone and ready to discuss sports with all comers.
