Monday’s Christmas Carol

As we count down the days toward Christmas, I wanted each day to share a tidbit of my own best Christmas memories.

Today’s entry is the start of A Charlie Brown Christmas. Back when I was a kid (pre-Roku, pre-DVD, pre-VHS) it was a big deal when this came on. My mom would cut out from the newspaper the announcement as to what time and on what station it would play and tape it to the television so I was sure not to miss it.

This clip features a favorite line of mine: “Of all the Charlie Browns in the world, you’re the Charlie Brown-iest.”

QLD has been down 2 weeks in a row and 2 days in a row. Although not guaranteed, a bounce is probably coming in the next 1-3 trading days.  This is the principle of short-term “trend reversal”.

Un Warren-ted Attention

Not much surprises me here on Slope, but one of the few things that does is people’s affection for Warren Buffett. I’ve never given the guy much thought, but over the years, it slowly dawned on me that the aw-shucks, banjo-strummin’, down-home-goodness image was a bunch of manufactured bullshit. The guy didn’t get to be a multi-billionaire by picking his banjo. He’s ruthless.

Anyway, I discovered recently he has a Twitter account, and naturally he has a huge number of followers: well over a million! (versus my paltry 14,000). His first tweet was the oh-so-saucy and almost ebonic “Warren is in the house”, which had more Likes than I have followers.

This would be all well and good if the old man cranked out awesome investment ideas day after day, but after several years on Twitter, you want to know how many tweets he’s cranked out? SEVEN.

And these seven tweets suck. You’ve already seen one of them (above), and the other six are, by and large, sycophantic pandering to women, since God knows there’s no greater champion of women’s rights than this old geezer.

Anyway, let the hate begin. You guys have been snookered by this old coot just like everyone else. All I can say without question is that his Twitter account sucks whale. He deserves to live in Omaha.
