Thanks to a tidal wave of completely-made-up economic “data” from the central planning committee of the Chinese Communist Party, the China stock ETF symbol FXI went up almost 30% from just Tuesday’s low to Wednesday’s high, with many single stocks going up much more. Well, that’s all well and good, but their bull market is totally dead and buried, and Communist lies are not going to fool anyone for too terribly long.

Well, you know the bear fever has broken when I’m doing a stupid post like this one. All the same, I went through all 100 stocks in my Recent IPO watch list and plucked out eight that I actually think look decent on the long side. My favorite of these is sweetgreen (symbol SG). Anyway, here goes:

Here in the Bay Area, at long last the Sunny Balwani trial is finally starting. Sunny is, of course, the co-conspirator with the whole Theranos mess. Now that his former decades-younger girlfriend Elizabeth Holmes has been convicted of multiple felonies (and, like all wrongdoers, is whiling away her days on a huge estate enjoying time with her family), the court is ready to deal with Mr. Balwani.

Good morning everyone. My examination of charts this morning was briefly interrupted by the repulsion of an invading army of fish-eating racoons by one of my intrepid canines, but I’m back at my desk.
After yesterday’s horrendous and inexplicable explosion in equity prices, it’s nice to wake up to pure red, although it doesn’t mean much. We’ve simply spent the night burning off the “hey, bears, screw YOU” final thrust yesterday (rounded rectangle below). It’s just froth at the top of the beer.
