CPI 2022
Someone suggested I input the dates of the Consumer Price Index reports (like the one we’re going to get this upcoming Wednesday) into Event Markers, so I’ve done so below. It isn’t exactly eye-opening, since there doesn’t seem to be much correlation. All the same, I think Wednesday morning’s figure will be very closely watched, considering the mayhem it unleashed last time.
Doji Girl’s Last Call
There aren’t many financial websites whose age can be measured in decades, but Slope is one of them. As such, it has outlived quite a few of its most loyal Slopers. Blind Squirrel – – himself a Slope staple for many years, let me know this week that Doji Girl passed away earlier this year. She resided in Florida, so here’s a glass raised to her memory.

After decades of spraying equity bulls with trillions of dollars of “accommodation“, the Federal Reserve is meekly and timidly trying to take away a teeny, tiny, itty-bitty morsel of the corporate welfare without trying to piss off their billionaire masters too badly. Below is shown the chart of the securities (if one dare use that term) that the Fed has purchased outright.
