Remember Buzzfeed? They’ve been around more than a decade, but it looks like, even with massive amounts of funding, they’re heading for the dustbin of financial history.
I had never really followed them until January 26, 2023, which is when the news hit that they were considering having AI write articles for them. For some reason, the entire world went ape-shit over this news and fell all over themselves buying up shares on enormously expanded volume.
Well, it was fun while it lasted, but it has gone on to lose pretty much its entire market cap. This makes it, in my estimation, just about the only company that ever uttered the words “AI” that didn’t go on to a steady diet of lifetime high prices.
