Slope of Hope Blog Posts
Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Six Survivors
It has been a rough week……….and month………..and year…………….and decade…………for anyone lunatic enough to be an equity bear. Below are my six bearish positions, as I continue to try to position myself with the most vulnerable charts I can find in this new-lifetime-highs-every-day market we’re in.

The Grey
I have been running a nonstop dinner party for almost 20 years, and I can never shake the idea that i have to entertain my guests. This is one of those very rare times when I honestly have nothing to say, and if I could bring myself to do it, I’d just say buh-bye until something happened next week. This market is as boring as hell. Honestly. I can usually write something or another to fill this space, but my God, this market has entered into some kind of dull equilibrium with NO volatility and NO atmospheric changes. Ever.

Dear Old Dad Portfolio
I wrote earlier this year about my late father’s stock portfolio (immediately turned into cash by his well-meaning but risk-average heirs), and I’ve been watching its progress ever since. As of today, it is up on an annualized basis by 25% (by way of contrast, world-famous money mismanager Cathie D. Wood, who has been paid hundreds of millions for her talents, is running this year at an annualized negative 14% with her biggest fund, ARKK). I thought it would be mildly interesting to show the 15 securities he had (past tense) which had established a handsome portfolio.
