Since some of you missed my video last night about this cool feature, I thought I’d just share it here text-wise.
Using the mouse to do such things as tagging a security or moving symbols from watch list to watch list can be a very time-consuming process. By setting up a keyboard shortcut, you can perform a variety of operations with the press of a function key on your keyboard.
To get there, just choose Preferences icon, which is located in the lower-left portion of SlopeCharts and resembles a gear. Next, click on the tab called Shortcuts. This provides everything you need to create these time-saving shortcuts.

Using this feature is very simple, because it’s just like composing a sentence: in the first column, you choose a key to use; in the second, you select an action, and in the third and fourth (if appropriate) you choose additional parameters. Here are the choices for the function keys you can assign:

There are six different actions you can program via this dropdown:

Specifically:
- Move Symbol – removes the currently selected symbol from the one watchlist and puts it into another watchlist (both of which you specify when setting up the shortcut)
- Copy Symbol – copies the currently selected symbol from the one watchlist and places it into another watchlist (both of which you specify when setting up the shortcut)
- Tag Toggle – tags or un-tags the currently selected symbol
- Chart Style – lets you pick one of your customized chart styles and assign it to a key
- Study Sets – lets you pick one of your customized technical study sets and assign it to a key
- IV Rank – puts the implied volatility rank chart of your choice beneath your price chart
Below is an example.
First, a key is selected (F3). Next, an action is picked from the dropdown (IV Rank). Finally, since the IV Rank Dropdown is presented, a specific IV Rank is selected (in this case, Basic IV).

Now, whenever F3 is pressed, the Basic IV will instantly be put on the chart or, if it is already there, it will toggle and be removed from the chart. Thus, what might have taken twenty seconds before now just takes an instant.
